LWB VW Crafter Flagship

Bespoke Adventure.

When we were commissioned to transform this long-wheelbase VW Crafter, the goal wasn’t just to build another camper—it was to engineer a zero-compromise, premium overland machine. We designed a dual-mission layout capable of safely hauling two full-sized mountain bikes internally while maintaining first-class luxury, a full wet room, and total off-grid independence.

The exterior is a masterclass in custom automotive styling, pairing a factory white upper body with a flawless, custom-baked VW Bay Leaf Green Metallic bottom half and matching ATEK elevating roof. Inside, every panel of the custom cabinetry was precision-routed on our CNC floor for a rattle-free, factory-level fitment. Combined with an interconnected, heavy-duty Victron Energy ecosystem, it’s proof that AMT Group can engineer any van to conquer the wild without sacrificing an ounce of luxury.

If you’re currently in the middle of planning a self-build campervan conversion in Scotland, you’ve probably hit the exact same brick wall every Scottish builder faces before you. You spend hours researching the best materials. You read the forums, you watch the YouTube tutorials, and you rightly decide that building a heavy interior out of standard, moisture-absorbing MDF or heavy structural ply from a local DIY superstore is a bad idea. You want the real deal: 15mm laminated lightweight poplar plywood —the industry standard for factory-grade, rattle-free, lightweight camper cabinetry. So, you find a supplier online, add nine or ten beautiful sheets of Vohringer ply to your digital shopping cart, and head to the checkout. Then comes the punch in the teeth: The delivery fee. Because you live north of the border, you get hit with a massive £150+ "heavy freight" shipping surcharge. And worse, you’re left crossing your fingers hoping a courier doesn’t drop the pallet and smash the corners of your expensive £150 sheets before they reach your driveway. At AMT Group, we got sick of seeing Scottish builders get penalized just for living here. That’s why we do things differently.
